Meet our staff

Ki Kuhnly, Executive Director

Shekinah ‘Ki’ Kuhnly comes to East Town as an experienced champion of Downtown Minneapolis. Previously she served as the Event Manager with Mpls Downtown Council where she supported Aquatennial, Holidazzle, MDC’s member programs, Annual Meeting and Annual Fundraiser. Prior to becoming a full-time event professional and owner of Soulful Events, she worked in higher education at the University of St. Thomas and received her Master of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Christie Rock Hantge, Executive Coordinator

Christie Rock Hantge has been working as the executive coordinator for the East Town Business Partnership (formerly the East Downtown Council) since November of 2012. Christie has 28 years of experience working for Minneapolis neighborhood organizations. She holds an MA degree in Public Administration from Minnesota State University at Mankato and is in the process of writing her dissertation to finish her Doctorate in Public Administration at Hamline University. Christie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and has completed the National Development Council’s Economic Development Finance Professional Certification Program.  Christie is an avid runner.  In her spare time, she is the Head Coach for the Hutchinson High School Girls Track and Field Team.
