More than 10 million trips are taken between the Twin Cities and Chicago each year. More than 100,000 of those trips are on Amtrak, but there’s only one train per day, and it’s usually full. Adding a second train will benefit companies that ship by freight rail, the tourism industry, and, of course, travelers.
