9th Street Resurfacing and Possible Reduction of Vehicle Lanes

June 5, 2015 By EDC

The Minneapolis Department of Public Works contacted EPNI on June 1st to let the community know that they are considering reducing vehicle traffic lanes on 9th Street when they complete the weekend resurfacing project on June 12-14. The reduction from three lanes to two lanes would then make room for a full bike lane.

Given the short notice they have agreed to install temporary lane stripes pending a presentation to the community at the June 18th BLUH meeting. If you are at all concerned about this, or think it is a wonderful idea, please attend EPNI’s Building, Land Use & Housing committee meeting and express your opinion. Or send Lynn Regnier and email at [email protected] The BLUH meeting is on Thursday, June 18th, 6 p.m. at the Elliot Park Recreation Center, 1000 E. 14th Street.
