The Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association is proud to announce the upcoming 2023 Downtown Minneapolis Safety and Security Summit, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 3, at the Mill City Museum, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This EVENT is free and open to the public. It will bring downtown residents together with community organizations, the business community, elected and public officials, and law enforcement for a comprehensive discussion on enhancing public safety and reducing crime in our city.
The 2023 Downtown Minneapolis Safety and Security Summit seeks to create a platform for open dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration to address the evolving challenges and opportunities posed by safety and security concerns. With a focus on fostering partnerships between law enforcement, community organizations, and local businesses, the summit seeks to develop innovative strategies that will create lasting positive impacts on our neighborhoods.
The detailed agenda for the evening will be posted on the DMNA website, but will include information tables hosted by neighborhood and community organizations from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., a moderated panel of elected and public officials from the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and a meet and mingle networking time from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. The names of speakers, panelists, and participating neighborhood and community organizations will be posted on the DMNA website when they are finalized.
Jason DeRusha from WCCO Radio and former WCCO TV news anchor will serve as the moderator for the summit. The summit will feature a panel of elected officials and City leaders who will cover a wide range of topics such as crime prevention, community policing, community engagement, and more. Summit attendees will have the opportunity to network with community organizations, elected and public officials, and law enforcement, and share their perspectives through interactive conversations. Attendees will also gain valuable insights and contribute to the collective effort of making our city safer for everyone.
