Sawatdee Thai Restaurants is excited to introduce “DeeDee.” DeeDee is a new server assistant robot created by Bear Robotics of Redwood City, California. DeeDee is the first robot of this type operating in Minnesota. DeeDee is designed to automate repetitive manual work which allows the restaurant staff to focus on outstanding customer service. DeeDee (represented by ดิด)ิ loosely translates as “very good” in the Thai language. As a
result, Sawatdee staff nicknamed the robot “DeeDee.” (Auspiciously, “Dee” is the last syllable in Sawatdee!)
Supenn Harrison, the founder of Sawatdee Thai Restaurants, feels very optimistic about the addition of DeeDee to her staff. “With the staffing shortages, ‘DeeDee’ provides an extra hand
when we really need it,” Supenn adds, “The staff and the customers really love her!”
