Presentation of Valspar Corporation Expansion Plans

You are cordially invited to join the East Downtown Council for the November Business Forum:

Presentation of Valspar Corporation Expansion Plans

Valspar is one of Minneapolis’s oldest and most established global companies. Since 1806, Valspar has delivering the latest innovations, the finest quality and the best customer service in the coatings industry. Valspar supplies customers in more than 100 countries, offering a diverse array of products that makes it one of the largest and most comprehensive suppliers of consumer and commercial coatings in the world.

Valspar plans to expand the Minneapolis research and development campus and renovate the former headquarters building, located in downtown Minneapolis. The expansion will hold a word-class environment for developing industry-leading coating technologies and applications which further demonstrates the company’s commitment to growth and innovation. The project will also create up to 135 full-time jobs over the next two years, including high-paying roles in the material sciences. Valspar is investing approximately $30 million in the expansion, which will add 87,000 square feet of laboratory, meeting and office space as well as restore the historic headquarters building. The project will also help expand partnerships with highly regarded research institutions and universities, providing co-operative internships and equipment sharing with schools such as the University of Minnesota.

Date and Time: Thursday, November 15, 2012. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by a presentation. Please arrive at 11:30 a.m. We will meet in the lobby as a group and then proceed up to the 9th floor. You will need some form of ID to enter the building.

Location: Valspar Corporation– Ameriprise Building – 901 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55402. This is NOT the Ameriprise building on 7th St. and 3rd Ave. S. It is 2 blocks down on 9th St. and 3rd Ave. S.

Cost: $15/per person for EDC members and their guests; cash, check or pre-paid lunch ticket.
