Due to continued stress related to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is attempting to gauge the economic effects on businesses across the Ninth District, a region that includes Minnesota, the Dakotas, Montana, parts of Wisconsin, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The Minneapolis Regional Chamber is helping with their outreach efforts.
Minneapolis Fed and its President, Neel Kashkari, want to better understand the outbreak’s effect on individual businesses as well as local, regional, and state economies more broadly. This will help the Federal Reserve System shape monetary policy designed to help businesses weather this economic shock.
