ETBP on October 12, at Noon offered in hybrid format

September 13, 2021 By EDC

The next East Town Business Partnership Business Forum will take place on Tuesday, October 12.  Please note this day is different than our regularly scheduled third Thursday.

This business forum will be offered in a hybrid format with both an in-person option at the Canopy Hotel and via Zoom.   Please register for the in-person event via Eventbrite and the virtual option via Zoom.  If you plan to attend the in-person event at the Canopy Hotel, please arrive at 11:30 a.m. for networking and lunch.

Forum Title: The Triple Bottom Line of Businesses and Corporations

Forum Description
Nearly three decades ago a new movement began amongst corporate leaders to advance a more expansive set of goals deemed as achieving success: “People, Product, and Planet.” This forum will explore nuances of each bottom line and how ultimately each bottom line is dependent upon the others.

The keynote speaker for this event is Phil Trier, Regional President for US Bank.

Phillip Trier serves as Regional President leading the company’s commercial banking business in the Twin Cities, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Michigan, Kansas City, Oklahoma and Texas markets. The commercial banking business segment serves private, public, non-profit, education and multi-national businesses with revenues of $25 million up to $1 billion. In addition to the geographic markets, he oversees national specialty businesses including Title & Escrow, HOA Property Management and Alternative Investments. He also is responsible for providing oversite and strategy for commercial banking’s national deposit and payments businesses.

Trier also serves as the President of U.S. Bank’s headquarters market in the Twin Cities representing the company’s 12,000 local employees. He oversees U.S. Bank’s business activities in the Twin Cities market, supervises the company’s regional board, chairs the Twin Cities Foundation and leads the Twin Cities-based market committee, a group of local senior leaders representing the company’s key lines of business and staff functions. Trier joined U.S. Bank in 2000 and has held numerous leadership positions within Commercial and Corporate Banking.

An active member of the community, Trier is involved with several local civic organizations. He serves on the board of directors of the Minneapolis Downtown Council (Board Chair 2017-2018), Gillette Children’s Specialty Hospital, Junior Achievement and the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He’s also active with Special Olympics Minnesota, American Heart Association, United Way and Habitat for Humanity.

Trier holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he graduated with honors. Trier was also selected for the Young American Leaders Program at Harvard Business School and was a Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree.

Trier, his wife, and their four children reside in the Minneapolis area.
